In this newsletter, FCS will report on FAFSA - the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. We'll show you how to get started! We also highlight two additional college scholarships that you may be eligible to receive. Our team has verified that these scholarships do not require any essays, SAT scores or grades in order to apply. However, these scholarships require the registrant to be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States.

FAFSA
The Federal Student Aid program is available to current and future university students. The aid can come in the form of Pell grants, which - like a scholarship - don't need to be paid back. You may also receive a Stafford loan, PLUS loan or a work-study program. Many schools also use FAFSA to award non-federal aid, so even though you may not be receiving aid, you may still have to complete the form.

If your family is unable to contribute very much money to your education, then you may benefit more from FAFSA. The application looks at your finances and determines the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). FAFSA does not request information regarding your race, ethnicity or religion.

Want to get started? Go to FAFSA and follow the three steps. FAFSA began accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year on July 1, 2008. Get started and secure your aid before you go back to school!
