In this newsletter, FCS will report on some scholarship resources that you may have overlooked. The Internet is a great place to start your search, but don't skip these the traditional scholarship avenues.

1. Guidance Counselors

If you're a high school student, your school most likely has an administrator with special training and years of experience in helping students find the right degree at the right college - and how to pay for it. Who knows, a ten minute conversation might be the key to thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships!

2. Non-Profit and Community Organizations
Many non-profits and community organizations offer scholarships. Sometimes these are awarded based on merit, other times it is based on the financial situation of the family or race, religion or national origin. A web search for volunteer scholarships will get you started, but don't miss Americorps, Comcast Scholarship Program, Bonner Scholars Program, the Do Something Awards and SERVEnet.

Don't miss our partner program - ScholarshipProvider.
This $10,000 college scholarship takes only a few minutes to enter, doesn't have GPA or test score requirements and doesn't cost anything to enter.              Click Here to Register

3. Labor Unions
Many major labor unions offer scholarships for members and their dependent children. This includes UnionPlus, IAM and TWU.

4. Corporate Sponsorships
Many large companies sponsor scholarships for high-school students as well as graduates and returning students. Here are some popular scholarships:

Bank of America Student Leaders
Best Buy Scholarship
Coca Cola Scholarships
Walmart Scholarship
The Gates Millennium Scholars
Intel Science Scholarship
Toyota Community Scholars Award

Remember, when it comes to scholarships, you won't win if you don't apply! So get organized and do your research. Your next scholarship could come from the store you shop in every week, the club your relative belongs to or from an online scholarship that only took a few minutes to enter!

Thanks, and Good Luck!

"I am a single a parent with four children, and I am always telling them that a good education is the key to success. So, I decided to go back to school and get my degree. I applied at AIU and put in for plenty scholarships to help pay for school. The last week of my first class I received a call from FreeCollegeScholarships. God has answered my prayers and sent FCS to me. I thank God and FCS for helping me continue my education. I will be able to buy a better laptop to do my homework, and I can pay off some of my school loans. Not to mention, once I graduate I will get a promotion at work. I thank God everyday for FCS, because without them it would very difficult to go to school."
