Hello FCS Subscriber! Every year a small number of students get a huge amount of scholarship money. How do they do it? One small Midwestern college recently reported awarding over $20,000 to a single student. However that’s nothing compared to Ben Kaplan, a student who, “won more than two dozen scholarships – amassing nearly $90,000 in unrestricted college cash…” (back cover jacket of How To Go To College Almost For Free).
Like Ben, you too can go to college almost for free. Don't miss the FCS 10k scholarship drawing on March 25th. Click Here to Register
In this newsletter we're covering you more clever ways to help pay for school. One of these just might be the jackpot for you!

Start with the easy applications where it takes no more than fifteen minutes of time. Don't miss Scholarships4Moms, FreeMilitaryScholarships, and ScholarshipProvider.

Fortune 500 Companies
Consider the industry in which you want to work. Let’s say you want to major in retailing. Check out the a listing of Fortune 500 retail companies. Go to each retailer’s website home page. In the Contact Us section ask for information about their scholarships. When you get the information, it will typically be a website. Click on the application link. Fill out the application and electronically send it in.
If you don't have much luck with a major corporation, try looking a little closer to home. Community scholarships are usually a good source of money. Try both your city and your state. For example, if you live in L.A. enter "Los Angeles scholarships" and "California scholarships".
US Government Grants & Financial Aid
Next check out other government opportunities. Fedmoney.org lists 42 U.S. Federal Government scholarships, grants and fellowships. Click on the ones you feel are appropriate. Fill out the forms. Click send. And move on to the next application.
More is Better!
Less is not more when it comes to scholarships! Set up a time each day to apply. Perhaps it will be just one hour. It might be the hour before bedtime or the hour right after you get up. Don’t demand too much of yourself, but do require yourself to have a solid block of time each week and spend that weekly time applying. It won’t take long. Make it your personal goal. Set a goal to Beat Ben in scholarship dollars you will amass.
That's all for this week. Do not forget to register for the March 25th FCS scholarship drawing, and stay tuned for next week's newsletter!
Good Luck!
